Head planing

Head planing
Can I get the heads shaved if they were warped? I pressure tested them and they were good but when I got them shaved the chain skipped a tooth. It went on with no slack after reassembly and tension piston was put on and is tight up against the top chain guide i also rotated the crankshaft multiple times without any piston valve contact. Just trying to get some answers because I don't want to mess this car up.

I know its pretty typical to shave the heads with a motor with the cam in the block but with the cam(s) in the head it can affect the timing because it effectively adds slack to the timing chain(s). If the tensioner has the capacity for some minor adjustment you should be okay. But best to consult someone who is an expert in these engines.

Sounds like you didn't push the tensioner tight with your finger when you reassembled the front. You can't leave the tensioner retracted, you have to manually push it fairly tight because it will be empty of oil on startup. If you forgot before you put the cover on then you can just remove the little access window cover and do it from there. I think there's a spec on how much tension but I just push it over to the right until it feels very snug but not as hard as I can and definitely don't pry it over with a screwdriver or something.
