Angry hydro planing

Is it ME, or do the original tires that come with the G('04 5speed auto), feel like they hydro plane very easily. i noticed this shortly after i got the car. It seems to be getting worse, i only have 13K miles on the car! there could be a light rain and i still feel a looseness over the wet pavement. I don't have much confidence, i find myself going less than the speed limit.
Any input would be nice.......

How much tread to you have left? Is it worn on the inside tread?
Have you considered getting your car re-aligned? Your car could be toeing out.

the thread is good on all four tires; i haven't taken the car in for an alignment, but driving it and letting go of the steering wheel doesn't pull the car....thanks for the suggestions!

Which tires do you have? Do you have the 17" Eagle RS-A tires? If so, Eagle RS-A are the worst tires I ever had the misfortune of using, as those came on my other car, and yes, they hydroplane quite badly.

My G35, came with the 18" Pilot Sports, and I haven't had any problems with hydroplaning. (And we can get some nasty rain here in OR/WA)

I hydroplaned with my stock 17s. I think they had the EAgle tires on

the car came with the pilots, i just found out that the pilots are not all season tires...this may be why. not sure, i just know that the tires feel like they loose too much grip while raining. i had an '96 impala before this and never had that "feeling" while driving during a rain...
thanks to all that posted..

I have the RS-As on my OEM wheels. They are fine with the X. If you want a bad tire, can I recomend the Bridgestone Turanzas or the Potenzas I had on my Maxima? I have Yokohama AVS ES100s on my 18s and they are awesome in the wet. I'll deal with the RS-As for winter until they are worn out. Then I'll go to Blizzaks.

FYI. the steering wheel doesn't need to pull to tell you to get an alignment.

Are the tires brand new? If so it might need to be broken in... the pilots
that come with the car are A/S.

My stock Pilots were pretty good in the rain actually. Tire rack rates them pretty high for wet/hydro resistance as well...

What was the temperature outside, when you drove in the rain? Are you in SF or Texas? I ask, because I drove on my stock pilots, when it was about 45 degrees or so, and they were pretty slippery when cold and wet. Being summer tires, temperature is pretty important. I remember tirerack saying that the tire manufacturer's definition of summer, is sustained daytime temperatures > 60 degrees F.
