Crankshaft position sensor
Crankshaft position sensor
Hey guys just wondering if anybody else has had problems with the crankshaft position sensor I've put 2 in my 2004 Infiniti G35 and made sure that the second one was ome drove it home and it's doing it again any suggestions would help thanks
When you say "OEM" you mean you bought it from Nissan and it game in a little Nissan Genuine Parts bag right?
Yes camshaft sensors fail, it's probably the number 1 issues people have with these vehicles.

Well no it didn't come in a Nissan genuine parts bag! I got it a NAPA with 3 year warranty and drove is maybe 10 miles to my house and did it again!
was told I need to replace both camshafts sensors also?? But that's way I got on here to see what yall guys think??

Then it DEFINITELY wasn't an OEM piece.
There is the ACTUAL OEM part which comes either in a Nissan Genuine Parts baggie from the dealership (or online vendors), it is made by Hitachi so you can buy from a 3rd party vendor and still get the OEM unit.
Then there's all the other knockoff ones that are "Built to OEM Spec" which means they are NOT the actual OEM one that works properly but rather a cheaply manufactured replica that may or may not work and will probably give inferior performance and longevity.

This^ ???? the ECM will tell you which one to replace you don't just blindly replace everything unless it's done as preventative maintenance (or you like throwing money away).
