CRANKshaft position sensor DIY

Hey guys,

I took my 04 6mt coupe to have the codes read. P0335 - crank position sensor circuit. I'm seriously considering DIY on this as the sensor is easy to get to with a jack, and the stealership wants 200 in labor for it.

Any reason I shouldn't DIY on this, or anything I should know going into it?

There is a BWD sensor at pep boys for 45 bucks.

Thanks!

PS i tried searching and couldn't find but one thread on it that was rather lacking in information.

My 05 g35x stalled about 3 times in a week both while idling and at 40 mph and finally threw a code p0335 . I found the crankshaft position sensor at Autozone for $42 duralast. The sensor is located on the driver side right between the engine and transmission. It's easiest to get to on a lift since you have to remove the lower engine shield but you can get to it from the drivers front wheel well with the car on a jack stand. There is only one bolt holding the sensor but removing the connector is the challenge. Be careful not to break the clip!
