Weird metal rattling (deep loud) noise at low rpm
Sup y’all! First time posting. First G35 coupe. It’s a 2004 has short throw shifter, stage 2 clutch I hear a really loud rattle sound maybe kind of like a grinding sound at LOW rpm goes away at like 2k 2.5k it’s so odd. The exhaust is after market so there’s no heat shield as far as I know from the pictures he sent me when I wanted to buy it. There’s like a shield above the cat connected to the frame so I’m not sure if it’s that. Someone said could be a throw out bearing but it’s brand new.. I have no clue. Help me out please!!! Thanks y’all. Ps. Gonna look under it tomorrow so I’ll keep you all updated if I figure it out.
It’s probably a lightweight flywheel. I have one in my g and it does the same thing, low deep kind of rumble rattle under 2K rpm. 100% normal nothing to stress over.

See that’s what I thought but it’s sooo embarrassing man 😂😂 I go into first and start rolling and grrrrrrrrr... like dude why the hell does it do that lmao
Timing chain tensioner can also make a rattle that goes away at that rpm, if the sound is coming from the front of the engine and not underneath, that could be it.

See I thought that too cause I have a cobalt and the timing chain is screwed. But the sound is coming from under the car near like the cat -ish. I asked the previous owner if there was a lightweight flywheel but hasn’t gotten back to me yet. I just need this solved because it’s very very annoying.
