Hello, the G35 I have is an 05 6MT Coupe, bone stock other than a Walker Y-Pipe, Mid-Pipe, and muffler delete. 93k miles, oil got changed about 1000 miles ago, and still shifts perfectly.
I was driving earlier today and noticed something odd because around 11 a.m., it was idling at 900-1100 RPM. Then I took it into work later that day, and I noticed it was idling high again, and by that time, around 3:30 p.m., it threw a SES Light. It was solid, so I knew there was nothing major, but something not right because it was doing that high idle again. (Supposed to idle around 600 RPM.)
So, I found out it was a P1084 Code, which is a faulty “Exhaust Valve Timing Circuit,” (Bank 2.) May also be a Camshaft Position Sensor because that was what was pulling up on the market when I looked the code up.
Anyway, I got the code erased around 5 p.m. and then went to work. Once I started it back up around 10:30 a bit ago and let it warm up, it idled perfectly at 600, but 20 minutes into driving, the SES Light came back on, and to make sure it was the same issue, I put it into neutral and of course it starts to idle steadily at 1000. Do I need a new Bank 2 Cam/Exhaust Timing Sensor or whatever? Any ideas on what else could be the issue? (It steadily idles whether at 1000 or 600, and no odd noises either,) but definitely still a minor issue.
