Hestitation while driving
Hestitation while driving
Morning Forum Folk,
I am getting some hesitation while driving. Sudden and momentary drop-outs of power - lasts much less than a second.
Thank you!

- Happens only when it's cold outside: Below 0C/32F.
- The colder it is, the more it happens. If it's below -15C, it will happen every 3 - 5 minutes.
- Warming up the car for a few minutes helps, if the outside temp isn't too cold.
- Started happening during winter last year, last summer didn't happen at all, then has done it again all this winter.
- Does not happen during acceleration.
- Happens between 2,100 and 2,400 RPM, around 95 - 100km per hour.
- Happens with 87 and 91 Octane fuel.
- No CEL.
- Stock 2006 G35X w/285,000km
Thank you!
Sounds like a vacuum leak, cold stuff contracts and thus makes a leak more prevalent. Once it's hot outside or when the engine warms up things expand and the leak seals up more.
