loud screeching noise and smoke from 1 exhaust after valve cover change

I just finished replacing my valve covers because I got a check engine light for my coils and I found oil in the spark plug wells. After I put all the parts together with a friend and went to turn on the car I hear a loud screeching/whining noise coming from somewhere in the engine (not the belts). I also noticed that smoke was coming out of the driver's side exhaust that smelt like something electrical burning. I turned it on 1 more time and left it on this time and I noticed the rpm jumped up and down under 2k, then the car just turned off on its own. I changed all my gaskets that needed to be changed, spark plugs and coils. Is it some sort of vacuum leak?

As a side note, I just got back from a long holiday and this is the first time i started it in almost 3 months.

Double check all your connections. When we did mine, it would start, then stall immediately. We missed one connection (TB maybe), once connected it fired up and ran great.
