Quick question about Y-pipe
Just wondering how effective these are. Planning to get the fujitsubo exhaust in a month, and wondering if I should get a Y-pipe also. Is there a difference between brands? Getting a Y-pipe shouldn't affect me in passing smog check here in california? and what's a good price for a godo Y-pipe?
Thanks so much in advance!! =D

Since you're getting a Fuji regardless, I'd get a Ypipe to finish off the system. Any Ypipe will get you very similar results in sound & performance. My advice would be go for one like Gruppe S, UT or Pro 1...they're all quality pieces w/ out the high price. As long as you have stock cats a Ypipe shouldn't cause you to fail emissions.
The search is your friend as there is lots of information out there on Y-pipes already.

I searched on the term "y-pipe" and got many hits.
As far as how effective they are, you will free up some exhaust flow compared to the more restrictive stock y-pipe. Will you notice any gains on the old butt dyno? Not really. I believe dynos have shown to gain ~5rwhp. You may notice a slighlty lower exhaust tone. And no, it won't affect your smog status as long as you leave the cats alone. If you're getting the fuji exhaust, getting the fuji y-pipe would be a good idea as the y-pipe outlet diameter matches up with the midpipe inlet diameter.

I guess I was pretty lucky when I bought my NFC y-pipe when I did before they went out of business(?) Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of choices out there for stock diameter Y-pipes.
