Best Intake Upgrade For The G?

What is the best intake upgrade I could get for my G35 with a Upgraded Exhaust and Upgraded plenum? Does it all boil down to preference or should I really be picky on choosing? What kind of intake do you have on your car and if you have pictures can you please post them? Thanks in Advanced. http://www.grubbsperformance.com/Mer...G35CoupeIntake Has anybody installed this intake yet? By the looks of it, I think it would be much better then the z tube. Doesn't plastic soak up more heat then aluminum?

Dude, your answer is way of topic. Umm Okay, that’s not quit the answer I'm looking for. First off Dude! I've checked many intake threads and it's like nobody responds to the old threads anymore. So why not make a new one, what is the harm in that? I’m glade you have all your answers and the search button works for you.!

If your P_diddy WTF are you doing driving a G35, Shouldn’t you be driving a Hummer or escalade with bling bling. Go away and host your MTV show Making The Band!
Hey come one, he was just trying to respond to your question. If you wait people will answer, there's no need to be an immature jackass to someone who's trying to help you out .

As far as intakes are concerned, there's been a lot of posts in regard to this subject. Some people will say get a z-tube and less restrictive drop in filter like K&N filter or Greddy Airinix, other will go with z- tube with stillen intake, others will do a z-tube with popcharger, others will tell you to go with a CAI like Injen or NISMO, get the point? There's a ton of different opinions out there but what seems to be the general consensus is that there's no one intake thats significantly better then the rest, generally they're all pretty close. Here's a pic of the UT G Tube in chrome. I've got the carbon fiber one with a Stillen Intake on my G and I love it.

Don’t mind the P Diddy part I was just kidding around don’t you see the silly face, see . P diddy, No hard feeling bro, I know your just trying to help. I'll delete that part because it wasn't necessary and very unbecoming of me. Sorry dude

Back to the intake. Bird man I like that set up you got going on there, first time I seen a G with that set up. I like Injen and I had it on my WRX and it performed Absolutely great, yes I do agree the sound is awesome at wot. I want to install it on my G but I’m trying to avoid the cold air intakes because of the hydro locking and plus doesn’t the air take longer to reach the manifold. Can someone prove me wrong? I wonder the reasons why they didn’t include the Injen short ram intake for our cars.

Hey what's up Pinoy....

Well, from what I've read in various threads and they more or less make sense you're better off just going with a K&N drop in filter and a Z-tube. Also, if you get the aluminum or CF one, you might not get the nice throaty sound. One of my buddies just put the CF Z-tube and it's almost quieter than stock. I'm thinking because it's more solid and doesn't resonate as well as the stock Z-tube. The plenum will definitely be beneficial so that will really come down to brandz (i.e. kinetix, crawford, etc.) but be aware that your engine cover may not be able to go back on. As far as the exhaust, look for some prior threads; someone had video clips of each exhaust which will help you determine not only looks but sound as well.

No worries. As far as the hydrolocking is concerned, the majority of the companies out there with CAI's (AEM, Injen, NISMO, etc) do offer bypass valves that usually take care of the hydrolocking issue.

As far as these longer intakes are concerned, yes some people would say they're less effective. I've seen advocates of the z-tube and drop-in point to cases where the driver lost a pony or two with a CAI. So, safest bet would probably be a z-tube and drop in filter. If you want a little more sound at WOT, go with a JWT Popcharger or a Stillen High Flow Air box at the end of that Z-tube.

Not cool Pinay702. Little newbies like you shouldn't be coming onto forums and then trashtalking members that have been around for a while. Hopefully people will not help you out.

I don't believe that you searched for any threads on intakes. There are soooo many of them, and people will respond to old threads if you post in them. Also, this question is very subjective and you will get people voting for every different type of intake out there, so you'll just have to decide for yourself.
