Error Codes P1167 & P1273
Hello:
I received these three error codes when I used the Actron CP9150 scanner:
P1167 MOD$10
MANUFACURER CONTRL
FUEL AIR METERING
P1273 MOD$10
MANUFACURER CONTRL
FUEL AIR METERING
P1283 MOD$10
MANUFACURER CONTRL
FUEL AIR METERING
I looked up these error codes P1167 and P1273 on Infinitihelp.com. The codes list shows P1167 as “Heated O2 Sensor 2.” However, it lists this error code for the I30/I35. In addition, P1273 is listed as “Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor 1” and error code P1283 is not listed.
I did quite a bit of reading and I read that if the O2 sensor is contaminated or has carbon buildup, it will cause a reduction in HP. Is it possible by my replacing the catalytic converters with racepipes, has allowed all the contaminants to buildup on the O2 sensors, which would normally be caught through the filtration of the catalytic converters? In addition, I read that the only way to clean an O2 sensor is a PROPANE TORCH, which by placing the sensor tip inside the propane flame for a few seconds at a time until all contaminants is evaporated by the heat.
In addition, is the second error P1273 (Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor 1) a problem with the MAF sensor?
Any suggestions much appreciated!
