Hey guys,
Well I'm taking my car in next week to get something checked out on my starter. I've looked through the forums and found some forums on a grinding noise, but none of them seems to be like mine. Heres the problem:
When i start my car in the morning 1 out of every 3 mornings, I hear a nasty grinding noise for a split second, immediately after starting the car. It only happens like 2 or 3 mornings a week, which makes me suspect a problem. It doesn't happen after that and it only happen in morning cold starts. This problem has only been happening for the last month. Any advice on what that could be? Why it only happens sometimes? And what they should check for? Your help would be greatly appeciated. This sucks because my cars only 3 months old. Let me know if you guys have gone through the same thing I have. This is a 2005 AT.

 

My '04 does it, sometimes, nothing seems to be broken. I've had the dealer check it out and we couldn't replicate it, of course!

I think it is rather subtle when compared to the antilock brake grind/adjustment.

 

What does a antilock brake grind sound like? When does it happen? Is that on a AT or MT or is it on both?
