Hmmm, thats tough... Both are pretty good. I have an AEM, way better then the restrictive stock unit.
As far as heavy rain problem, there is a cut off device you can add to an AEM in case you are worried about that. But honestly, how big of a problem is that? My AEM is partially covered by the front bumper and I recntly installed the lower T-Rex grilles to help not have the intake too exposed.
