Installed Optima Red Top this morning....

...and what a pain the @ss it was!!!

Original battery died last night (missing half the electrolyte), replaced with Optima.

I really like Optima, I really hate that the terminals always seem to be backwards from what I need.

Had to pull the battery tray, move the positive cable to the back side toward the firewall, change the way the cable mounted to the terminal clamp, move the grommet of the cable, not use one of the grommet clamps.

Stupid big plastic fusible links bracket thing....

I just wanted to vent for a sec.

Has anyone felt my pain??

Yeah, I looked at the Optima as well. The bass-ackward design turned me off with the terminal set-up, so I held off of getting one. They're great batteries though, and I've had them on other cars.

You can get them with the correct terminal set-up.

Optima makes the 34R and 51R (reverse terminal batteries) that fit the G35's battery wiring without modifications.

Ahh I see...

Well I'm sure they can get it...but the Auto Parts store where my girlfriend works (only option at 7:30am this morning, and I get a discount ) only has the backward one. So I made due. But if I had it to do all over again...I would definitely get the right one.
