So, I got in my car tonight and was ready to go out for dinner. Turned the key on and there it is --- Service Engine Soon!! My car only has 2,700 miles and the dreaded CEL comes on. Did any one of you experience this problem before? What happen to the Japanese reliability? The message on my nav said I should not even be driving the car at all, WTF? I went ahead and drove the crap out of it. As I see, it the car is still under warranty and if it breaks, Infiniti has better fix it or I sue them under the lemon law. I am pissed!! What a way to start a weekend.

 

A frequent cause of CEL lights is a loose or open gas cap. Did you check that? Sorry if this is an annoying suggestion but it has happened to me so I pass it along. Good luck.

 

Did that. It is not the cause. I filled the tank up 2 days ago and when the CEL came on tonight, it was at the half tank mark.
