24(48?)hr ECU reset.

I've search all the reset threads I could find. But they all deal with the quick resets. I can't seem to get the timing down for the quick reset, but I do have time this weekend for the 24(48?)hr one.
What do I need to do beside disconnecting the battery? Bleed the system by pressing the brake pedal? Just let it sit?
I'm sure this has been asked before, I just can't find an answer.
Thanks all.

I honestly think the brake pedal thing is a urban myth...but it can't hurt.

Disconnect the battery, positive and negitive. Go ahead and step on the brake pedal for a few secs, if you want to, to "drain" the electrical system of its last few drops of electricity. Let it sit for 36 hrs, jump up on one foot, clap your hands........seriously though....I don't know why people make this so difficult. Just pull the battery and let the car sit for a few miuntes and plug 'er back in. You don't have to wait 24hr/48hr or what ever anyone tells you. It's not rocket science. Your basically "unplugging" the car plugging her back in. Good luck!

No no no no. You need to "un-plug" for exactly 24.2617234322834 minutes or it doesn't work!

I would suggest trying the brake pedal reset again. You are probably counting too fast (thus not waiting long enough), so slow down and count "one one-thousand, two one-thousand...."

For the 5 pedal presses, make quick stabs fairly quickly (count 1,2,3,4,5, not the "one one-thou")

Good luck.
