i was wondering if you have a remote start alarm installed, could you remove the key (from the bypass module) and still run the car normally? I need to reprogram my keys and wanted to know if i could remove the key w/out affecting the alarm or car. i know that this would deem the remote start disabled...i'm just wondering if its safe to remove it for now and run the car...while i reprogram all my keys. TIA.

 

Yes, you can remove the key from the bypass box, as long as you don't mess with anything else(i.e. don't pull on wires or move anything that doesn't need to be moved). I have been a professional installed and MECP certified for 12+ years... You can reinstall the key after it is reprogramed/learned... Also, did you ask your installer about this? he may remove it for you...
