Something serious from Nismo?

I didn't get any news from them for a long time.

Are they working on something serious to get real power out of our VQ, under warranty?

Re: Something serious from Nismo?

I was under the impression that we got "real power" in stock form, and Nismo would be supplying us with "insane power" when they arrive.

Haven't heard of a date yet....

Re: Something serious from Nismo?

Interesting but very cryptic response… Could you please tell us at least what they are working on?

Re: Something serious from Nismo?

Nismo was rumored to be releasing select speed parts on June 16. As we all see that date has come and gone and we have nothing. They were to sell the exhaust, intake, body kit and engine add-ons(tranny cooler/oil cooler) for the Zs and R Spec stuff for the Infinitis. We are just as we have always been: left in the dark

ryoken: Ok then, lets just say I need insane power.

I hope they will get us some good forced induction system before 2004...if not I'm going to cry.

Re: Something serious from Nismo?

If they keep this on again off again release date most people will just buy somehting else and Nismo will lose their target market and a bunch of cash. Let alone pissing off most of us in the process.

Re: Something serious from Nismo?

Yeah but I would prefer to have Nismo stuff because it should all be installed at the dealer under warranty. The main reason I bought a new car instead of a last gen supra is the warranty so I want to keep it.

You are echoing alot of people, if you can wait then you will be rewarded. Hey,Nismo may lose the market buzz and you will be seeing a lower price for the items you want from them.

Re: Something serious from Nismo?

talked with nismo,
there will be no nismo for infiniti
they are focusing on new model Nissans
they MIGHT, have stuff for infiniti with a different name from NISMO. The NISMO stuff they are bringing over probably isnt worth it anyways, unless you want the bodykit, but if its an option from the dealer like its gonna be everyones gonna have it, and i dont want what everyone else has if i can avoid it.

Re: Something serious from Nismo?

All Nismo products for the Infinit's are going under the name "R Spec"

Re: Something serious from Nismo?

what I have come to understand about Nismo parts for us and the Z are that there are 2 different "categories"

R-tune (racing tune i believe) and S-tune (street tune i believe)
S-tune will be covered under warrenty, but none of the S-tune parts add any performance. Mostly bodykits/rims/suspension. Asthetic upgrades...

R-tune is where the magic happens. But our warrenty will not be honored should somethign go wrong. This is the category where the exhausts, intakes, headers, etc parts will be.

So basically, you will still void the warrenty if you want any of the good Nismo parts(R-spec).

I hope someone proves me wrong in that the performance parts will be covered under warrenty if they're Nismo...but sadly, I think my info is correct...
