Question What happened to the Motordyne Engineering 3/8" plenum spacers?

I don't see them for sale on their website
Were they replaced with the 5/16" spacers?

I just went to their web site and found this:

The plenum spacer introductory prices are:
MD 350Z ss 1/4" spacer - $195
MD G35 3/8" spacer - $215
MD XL 1/2"spacer - $245
All kits include sealing gasket, longer bolts and spacer(s).

click on the g35 page:

http://www.motordyneengineering.com/g35.asp

"The G35 will accept any size spacer but the G35 engine cover will not fit with the 1/2" spacer. For maximum performance the MD XL ½” spacer should be used.
For stealth mode modification, G35 drivers should use the 5/16” spacer. The engine cover fits nicely and there is no gap at the oil fill cap. With the engine cover on it looks totally stock."

interesting. Why would Tony reduce the size of the spacer? It seemed that the 3/8" was just fine...

Apparently, Tony is in the middle of R&D with some new spacer designs. At least, that is the impression that I've been given.

Whatever he does, you can assume that it will be big and better.

Stay tuned......

Hi guys,

New designs comming up. The 5/16" and 3/8" spacers will dyno with the error band of the dyno but the change in heigth is being done make room for other significant improvements! A new thermal management system that allows both upper and lower plenums to run much cooler.

More details comming soon.
Tony

Is it advisible to use the spacer with an upgraded plenum ( i.e.Crawford or Klinex) along with the spacer or is it that you can only install one or the other? Can someone shed some light on this for me?

Some have fit the 1/4" spacer with a CV5 and others have fit the 3/8" with a Kinetix.

Dyno gains were reported with the 3/8" spacer under the Kinetix but I don't know any details beyond that.

A plenum mod for the 05 6MT is being worked on but the stand alone Iso-Thermal kit will work very well with any intake! 05 6MT, manuals, automatics, totally stock, or even with other aftermarket plenum mods.

I have an '05 Sedan RWD Auto. Which spacer do you recommend for my car? I'm a little confused with all the different sizes.

Also, what are the realistic HP gains that I can expect?

Thank You.

But will it work with my 3/8" spacer? If not, that's kinda sucky to leave your customers hanging. But maybe it will...please, more details, prices, dynos, etc!!!!
