Question Sedan midpipe by ZcarGarage

Just got off the phone with Rob from Z Car Garage. I was asking about installing a coupe midpipe on my sedan. He said that he makes a custom midpipe for the G35 sedan with a 350Z resonator (~$120). What would be the benefit of this over a normal coupe midpipe(~$100 right?).
Different sound?
Wondering about weigh too as I know the coupe mid is lighter than the standard sedan mid.

Any of you know anyone who has this?

I Tried this custom midpipe from zcargarage and hated it. It was so raspy. I had him take it off and put the g35 coupe pipe on there. The only difference is that the his was a straight through design with no resonator. I am going to be selling mine in a week or two once i get my new exhaust.

Can someone tell me what part of the coupe exhaust is used? I have two systems. Can I just cut off the mid pipe and sell it or do you need the whole thing?

No need to cut anything. The stock exhaust is in 3 pieces: y-pipe (errr, the part shaped like a Y), the midpipe (this is what sedan owners are replacing, it is the strait pipe that connects the y-pipe to the muffler), and the muffler.

The y-pipe is the same on the G (sedan and coupe) and Z. Each uses a different design, the sedan is very odd looking with a big box that the pipes run in and out of, the coupe is more of a strait through design with a resonator....

I got the 350 mid-pipe from ZCar Garage last year. I think it's great. The 350Z mid-pipe and the coupe mid-pipe are exactly the same. In order to make either fit on a sedan, the aft section needs to be extended by about 6 inches. A common solution to this is to bolt on a short section that extends the pipe.

I don't know whether Rob has something different with this "custom" model, but what I bought from him was a stock 350z mid-pipe with a longer, after section welded on. It was a perfect fit and didn't require any additional secions or bolts - cleaner and lighter in my opinion. The 350Z and coupe have the same mid-pipe, so sound quality/volume is the same.

Personally, I think it sounds great. It's not coupe-like, but it's definitely a bit more aggressive sounding that a stock sedan.

I had Rob put on the Z midpipe earlier this year. It's a great mod - and it's no different than the coupe midpipe ('cept it's shorter so it needs an extension). A good thing to do to your sedan whether you pick the coupe or the z pipe.

I got one of the first test sets of Robs midpipe and there is no difference between the coupe or the 350 as Nissan is too cheap to make them different.
