Except when you accelerate the G35 [and all OBD1&2] engines run at or near 14.7AF ratio.

Most oil loss in new engines [under 100,000 miles] comes from the fact that the light components in conventional oil evaporate [up to 20% by volume] in heat and travel up thru valve covers thru pcv system and are feed into plenum where they get burnt with incoming charge.

So 20% [up to a quart] between 90 day/3750 mile changes could be considered normal depending on oil brand and weight. FULL Synthetics being more stable and more uniform should only "vaporize" 5-7%.

Now improper [breakin or positioning] ring set/tension is another situation!
