Question Is 300+whp possible with the 5AT G35C

Is it possible to break 300whp with the 5AT (while staying N/A)? I have driven a TT 350Z (it was fun and friggin FAST) but I love the instant response and the sharp exhaust note of a well built N/A motor . I already have my I/H/E/plenium setup picked out and I am looking at either a set of Nismo S1 or S2 cams. I have also considering getting the head ported and polished and getting the intake manifold extrude honed. Has anyone built a serious N/A setup with the VQ35 and what power are they making and with which combination of parts? What is the highest WHP anyone has made with boltons? Am I going to be the guinea pig ? Thanks!

I think the easiest way to do would be to work on how well the engine breathes. The VQ's taper off FAST when they hit the redline in both the 03/04 and the 05. If you could get it to breath to say 8000rpm, put some 11.5:1 pistons in, bore it out to say 3.7 3.8L maybe, new cams, balance it all, titanium retainers and some heavy duty valve springs. I bet the car would be pretty quick if you could keep it breathing, but you are looking at a fair bit of money.

I heard (but can't find confirmation) that a Z was in the high 11's NA, but that was with SERIOUS weight reduction too. I think low 13's high 12's would be attainable if you could get this setup to work, but that is just guesswork.. not sure how fast it would go if you couldn't get it breathing though, you best route in that case would be the 4.3L stroker kit and just **** torque everywhere.

Edit: New rods too, duh, forgot them.

Doug Stewart (Crawford Z Performance) has been working on a 300 RWHP N/A 6-speed 350Z for a long time. I believe the best he's done to date is around 285 RWHP. Anyone have an update?

^^^ Do you have any links? What setup is he running? The AEBS is nice but a VQ40 shortblock will be cheaper.

Look to the stroker kit, also modify the final drive gear. Jim Wolf Technologies make better cams than NISMO from what I hear, and the crawford plenum and longtube headers are the way to go. Eliminate the cats with test pipes, go with the borla true duals and then have your ECU tuned. This should get you close.
