Now wouldn't be too soon IMO. If I understand correctly your car is pre-owned. If so then you have no real idea of the actual time or mileage the oil's been in the engine. An oil and filter change is good insurance. If you bought it new every 3 months or 3k miles is not too often.

Two things....

1) Your owner's manual should tell you when to change it. I believe it's 3,750.

2) If you plan on going over the scheduled oil change date consistantly, you should really consider switching to synthetic oil immediately. If you change your oil on time regularly, then regular oil will be fine for you.

I use synthetic motor oil, but I still change it every 3,000-3,500 miles (because I'm ****).

If your car is new, change it now.

There is no such thing as Infiniti oil. There is Mobil 1, Castrol, etc....
My dealer say they use Castrol Synthetic Blend when they change it.

Infiniti dealers buy their oil in bulk from one of the major oil companies. They typically choose either 5-30W and 10-30W. Two dealers I talked with use Valvoline and Castrol. I'm sure others use different brands... what ever they can get the best deal on.
