I do it with my coupe all the time.
You can leave the filter on the lower half of the pipe.
Loosen all the clamps - except the one that holds on the filter at the bottom.
Take off the nut about half way down and take the pipe off the rubber thing it sits on.
Now, pop off the rubber fitting that connects the two tube together and get the lower pipe completely disconnected...
This is the tricky part and usually takes 2 people...
Push in the plastic inner fender as far as you can! It will make a loud pop and probably not too healthy but its the only way to get enoug space to get that big filter out of there, you will have to twerk it alittle to get the damn thing out and the 1st time you do it you will really be sweating - P.I.T.A!
I know I was cussing.
Now that its out, pipe and filter take the filter off the pipe by loosening that clamp.
Finally, slide the pipe and 1 clamp directly onto the silver finished MAF sensor.
Tighten the clamp and go for it, you should be alright.
To reinstalled do the same things, mashing the fender back some.
Might wanna practice where to hold the fender back at 1st, I can't explain where to push it in, there will be a bar running across it, like biult into the plastic, push above that. You will be able to find where the inner black plastic fender lining has the most play in it... PUSH!
Good luck... let me know!
