Re: Engine Cover

Picture 2 - Noted a slight amount of interference (rubbing) between between the engine cover and the aux. air inlet housing. Don't think it will be a problem.

Re: Engine Cover

Picture 3 - Trimed to miss the radiator fan. May trim some more. Going slow, as it's hard to put it back!

Re: Engine Cover

I checked the engine cover price for the G35 coupe. It's freakin $150something Canadian. I'm not gonna waste my money on that. I'll just end up spray painting the one I have currently on my sedan. Sheesh!!

It's still a G thang!!

Re: Engine Cover

Very nice looking mod Dave. How long did you have to wait for shipping?

Re: Engine Cover

Bought the 350Z Engine Cover (Ornament) from Jayson at Nissan Wholesale Parts (Trophy Nissan). It took about a week to for the big brown truck to make it's way from Mesquite, Texas to Helendale, Taxifornia.

Re: Engine Cover

Second trim for increased clearance and air flow across the plenum.

Re: Engine Cover

That really looks great! What did you use to cut the cover
to make it fit the non-electric fan?

God I love this car!

Re: Engine Cover

cato,

I used a Dremel Tool with a cutoff wheel. Finished up with flat and 1/2 round files and fine sandpaper.

Re: Engine Cover

If you're into Fabricating, You can Cut It Down Yourself...
By using an X-acto Knife & a DremeI Tool, I cut down my G35c Engine Cover. I think it shows off the Injen Intake a little better & resembles the 350Z Cover. Just not cut down as far but keeping the SIX humps on the top if the Cover Intact.
PHOTOS on Page # 6 in the Rides Section...

Re: Engine Cover

Your picture won't work. The "#" in the filename is a special symbol in URL syntax, and confuses the web browsers. When posting pictures, limit yourself to letters, numbers, "_" and "-" to be safe (no spaces, either).

Re: Engine Cover

The half covers look good except for one problem - they say "NISSAN".

(Uh-oh, I opened up the whole "my car is a Skyline" debate again.)

Re: Engine Cover

Jayson warned me the 350Z Engine Ornament came with the Nissan badge and someone would mention it.

My thoughts... when my G35 Sedan exceeds 287HP, I'll worry about how to install an Infiniti badge.
