Engine Cover
Does anyone know if the coupe engine cover will fit the sedan and vise versa? I was thinking of spray painting my engine cover, but I may just save some time and see how much they charge for the coupe cover. Thanks in advance.

It's still a G thang!!

Re: Engine Cover
Hey Rumble, I'm gonna guess at this and say they have diff mounting holes. My digicam is at Mom's today, so I just measured the bolts centers (front 2 and rear 2) Fronts from center to center are 11.75". Rears center to center are 7".
So get off your butt and get your tape out and go measure it.LOL J/K bro.
You could wait till next meet, or go flag down a Coupe. Best I could do for y'all this time dude.

Re: Engine Cover
I'm betting the Coupe, Sedan and 350Z engines are the same... at least externally. Therefore, the engine covers ("ornaments") should be fully interchangable.
I measured the mounting holes on my sedan's plenum/intake manifold ("collector") and they match the posted measurements exactly.
While on the subject of engine covers, I've conducted a very unscientific experiment over the last two weeks.
The results are not suprising. The the plenum runs hotter and retains more heat with the G35's full engine cover in place than when the plenum is uncovered.
My new 350Z "ornament" should be here early next week. And even if my conclusion is wrong, I still prefer the looks of the shorter 350Z cover.

Re: Engine Cover
maybe if you remove the hood lining insulation as well, it may run a little cooler.

Re: Engine Cover
Most like removing the underhood insulation would help dissipate engine heat. However the increased noise and elevated hood temperatures wouldn't be good... especially at idle.
I believe under-hood temperatures are much lower at speed and an exposed intake plenum will help reduce the temperature of the air delivered to the engine.
Could be wrong, but I'm willing to give it a try.
Once again, Jayson at Nissan Wholesale Parts made me a deal I couldn't refuse. The big brown truck is scheduled to deliver my 350Z Engine Ornament this afternoon.

Re: Engine Cover
Installed my new 350Z Engine Ornament this evening. Bolt holes are no problem.
Because I have a Sedan with a engine driven radiator fan, I had to trim about 2" off the front of the cover. Sedans with electric fans shouldn't need triming. The aux air inlet duct clearance is real close, but it does fit. And it doesn't look half bad if I do say so myself.

I've tried to post pictues in the past without success.
If there's no picture with this post, can someone talk me through how to do it?
Didn't work... Help!
