does the Auto/Manual have a rev limiter built in, so my joy riding friends dont blow the motor?

Re: Rev Limiter

I've noticed it closer to 6900, but it's definately there.

The auto will prevent you from downshifting, as well, if it would over-rev the engine.

The 6-speed, however, cannot stop you from throwing the car into 1st at 100mph.

Re: Rev Limiter

Actually yeah it can. It won't let you downshift to first, just go 80mph and try to downshift in a 6MT.

Thanks - Joey Avino

Re: Rev Limiter

What, is there some sort of lockout on the lower gears at higher speeds?

Re: Rev Limiter

Ahh. Last manual I had, the sophistication had only climbed so far as to keep you from sliding it from 5th straight back into R.

Re: Rev Limiter

I had the unfortunate experiance of downshifting from 6th to 2nd (I missed 4th obviously) and I saw nothing that stopped my shifting or the revs. It caused a horrible wheel screech and watching my revs go all the way up to 8000. Not fun, but everything seems to be fine. Just wanted to share my experiance.
