Estimated HP/TQ gains with the following mods??
Estimated HP/TQ gains with the following mods??
I have done a search, but you cannot ever add HP figures up. My initila performance mods are as follows:
05 6MT sedan
Stillen CAI, Z tube, New stillen Cat-back.
What performance gains can I expect with this set-up? 25-30 HP?
Does the Stillen exhaust come with the Y pipe as well? I am under the impression that it replace ecerything expect the cats and manifolds, correct?
Are there any other performance mods that are relatively inexpensive and that will yiled good results? I am trying to be mod-friendly in case of warranty issues and do not want to add headers or change cats.

I think with that set up u will gain around 10 hp to the wheel.
Stillen exhaust comes with an X-pipe. it will replaces everything after your cats. Some mods that are inexpensive and good for the car are the z tube, engine grounding kit, k & n air filter,

I hear a TT kit is a pretty basic mod that is relatively inexpensive and yields pretty good HP gains. LOL. I think a grounding kit is a great idea. A pulley kit will get you a few HP by saving some weight etc. The K&N filter is a great mod for our motors. Not sure if the spacer will get you enoguh HP to justify the cost.

The first mod you should do is gears - then the Stillen CAI is a great choice, follow that up with the crank pulley, to a y-pipe and get rid of the stock resonator for an 18" glass pack...you'll get a good sound improvement without any drone and an increase in torque and top end. The gears will really make it all happen.
The Stillen exhaust is great - noisy - but going dual 2.5" pipe is TOO much breathing without doing internals on the car. Convert the pipe to 2.5" with the stillen y-pipe and keep your stock muffler - you'll be so much happier and get more your dollar in the end.
Unless your going FI - don't waste your money on anything else other than wheels/suspension - and that's much of a waste if you have the perf packg.
Take it from someone who has doen all the good stuff - except FI.

I'm referring to the Motordyne spacers (in case you guys are talking about something else.
I have an 05 auto and it DID make a noticable difference.

I know that I've been away from the boards for a little while, but 30+ hp with a spacer? Somebody better fill me in on this one.
The engine revs ar high RPM's the way it is. I couldn't imagine doing shorter gears. At 80 MPH on a 6 speed, it is reving sround 3k in 6 th gear. What gear ratios woud you recommend? How much do they usually run? The ECu would have to be reflashed as well to make use of the gears, right? The shorter gears will also decrease gas mileage due to the engine being at higher RPMS' at any given gear?
