NISMO Cams & Head
I see that the NISMO cams are the same specs as the JWT cams. Anyone know if NISMO 'rebadged' the JWTs? Any comments from those who have installed either brand would be appreciated.
I also looked at the NISMO head for grins. Anyone running this yet? Perf.Nissan's site states that it increases compression, but doesn't specify to what. I thought the OEM RevUp was already running relatively high compression. Anyone know what it bumps it up to? Again, any comment from people who have it would be appreciated... ...even though I doubt anyone staying NA has made this move yet.

I can't honestly say that I know the answer to this question. However, given the fact that Nismo really doesn't make any of their own products, I wouldn't doubt it one bit.
I think paying for anything labeled "Nismo" is a joke and a rip-off.

The Nismo cams are in fact by JWT. However, JWT also sells a slightly different grind than the Nismo spec.
Sorry, I use to remember the exact figures for the Nismo heads off the top of my head. I do believe the static compression ratio w. this 46cc head is in the neighborhood of 11.5:1. Definitely consider using higher octane gas at that point.

PM Ducatiguy as he had both cams. I believe he mentioned that the Nismo cams are more streetable as opposed to the JWT cams which require a reflash or other tweaks to prevent stalling.

Tell that to the guys who spent more at the bodyshop getting the replica NISMO bumper to fit.
But I hear ya.
There is some potential worth to the label. Consider putting your modified G up for sell several years from now. You're potential buyers aren't going to be as limited as with a hodge-podge of other parts. The average buyer is going to feel much more comfortable with "factory" parts installed by the dealership.
We all know that all of our clothes were stitched together by 6yr.olds in China, India, etc., yet people pay more for name brands because of the percieved quality. The fact that Nissan's Motorsports division gives their blessing to a part (even if by rebadging it) will make Joe Schmoe feel more comfortable.

And thanks for the heads-up on Ducatiguy's experience. As for the need for higher octane, how high are we talking. The average here is 92-93 octane rating, but the gas in TX is supposed to be better than CA. Our 91 seems to be like CA's 93. Anyway, I always use the highest available (wish we had the 100 octane pumps). Would that not cut it?
And I guess the head/cams would require a reflash at that point.

By the way, which part of Texas are you from?
West Texas. And yes, the NISMO stuff is way over priced. I can hope that it will even out in the long run, if I sell it, but there are no givens. That's just my justification.
After the headers arrived, I was pretty dissapointed with their look... ...until I had them coated in the flat-black JetHot 2000.
