When the anniversary motor was released Jason, or one of the crew at Performance Nissan posted pictures on the my350Z site of the new lower plenum, conrod & piston & I am almost certain that it showed the conrod with studs & nuts. I tried to do a search but was unsuccesfull, maybe someone else could try?

Yes, but only the 6MT Anniversary Model, as well as the '05 350Z Track Model. In '06, all 350Z 6MT Models have the RevUp Motor, as well as all G35 6MTs. This engine is used only in 6MT applications.

Well thanks to Jimmy, aka Paranormal,we got our chance. He managed to spin main bearing #6 due to lack of oil. As you can see from the pictures, the rod on the right side is dicolored from the heat and the rod is elongated and egg shaped.A few more seconds and this rod would have snapped and went through the block. Now the rod on the left is out of an 03 model with the 287 hp motor and the rod on the right is from the 05 high rev motor. We can not visually tell the difference in the rods or pistons,so unless Nissan changed the material they used to produce it,the rumor that the 300hp motor is sporting stronger internals is false. We will not make a claim like this without backing it up,that is why I plan on having my engineer take measurments of both rods and give a comparison in the next few days. However upon initial inspections the internals seem to be exactly the same..

will your measurements include a property test to insure than the material they're made with is same/dif?

Honestly were not going to send a rod out to have them tested to those levels. This is very costly. I will have my engineer mic them when he gets a free moment to do so,but from a visual preliminary inspection they appear identical in dimension.I did however state in my very first post that "unless they changed the material" which is likely. I do know the crank shaft was different for a fact cause it had a different part number than the non-high rev motor.
