Have the same noise but only when it warms up. If I press in the clutch it goes away, as soon as I release it re-appears. I have a 05 6MT 2.5k. My guess would be the expansion of a hot clutch and it either rubbing against something or it gets loose from the expansion allowing it to have more movement than normal. I used to have some pretty bad smells coming from the clutch so I would imagine that it gets very hot, now that the car is "broken in" I no longer get the clutch burn smell. Could be that the clutch isn't sized right for the amount of torque the V35 produces? Might be solved with an aftermarket clutch but who wants to spend the money for that! It doesn't seem to effect the performance or the quality of shifts, my guess is Infiniti will ignore it since the clutch will probably burn out after warranty as they all do, just probably sooner than it should.

THANK YOU GUYS! i have an 04 and have had this same problem from like 2K miles. if u turn the engine off with the clutch depressed it shuts off quietly, but with the clutch disengaged it sounds like the tranny is gonna fall apart! my guess is that the throwout bearing is loose due to poor tranny design. you can hear a whirring noise along with the clunk at idle. good news is that a friend just bought a used Z and it makes the same noise. seems they have the same issue. the "master tech" at my infiniti dealer said its normal due to it being a high horsepower vehicle. i asked him to start up a porsche from next door to compare it to another high horsepower vehicle and he said "we can't do that. don't worry, your tranny is under warranty, if it breaks we'll replace it for free." so the plot thickens and they tell me that if it is the clutch or throwout bearing its not warrantied cos its a wearable item. boy, i got something they can wear...

I don't know if there is a TSB, but the dealers are aware of this problem. My wife took in our G thinking that it was the sunroof. The tech told her that he would take a look, but that it was probably the rear view mirror. It has not rattled since our last visit.
