The Skunk2 is a respected name with a bigger advertising budget than Motordyne. Many ppl go with a known brand name, not always what works best. This is the same in most products. For the same price, would you go with Kimber Kable or Monster? Naim, or Sony amps? Conrad Johnson, or Mark Levinson? (Well, this is maybe not as good an example, but you get the idea. )

Don't do the Injen*. Stay away from all "Cold Air" intakes.

Go with one of the following:
JWT Pop Charger
Stillen Intake
-or-
Put in a K&N filter in your stock air box, but also purchase a Z-tube

Don't do the AEM, Injen or Nismo

* There have been some reports of people gaining with the Injen (which is probably the best of the cold air intakes)

Hey Will, i ran into the Daytona Blue 350z tonight. And we did a couple of runs. First run was from a dig to like 90. I put like 2 car lengths on him. But he told me he misshifted. So we did another one from a roll to like 90 also and i put like 1-2 car lengths on him again. He had a friend tho. He was fairly new at driving manual, so probably thats why i won. It was pretty run tho, too bad we couldn't find you. By the way, i got the Nismo Cai v2, and its pretty good, but imo its the samethin as a Ztube and popcharger just more expensive. But it looks better in your engine. So you can consider that if you want.

I have the Pop Charger and love it. However, I have heard better reviews about the Stillen intake. Tha's what I would tell you to get.

Just remember that the Nismo intake is identical to the AEM intake. AEM makes the Nismo intake.

Design is identical....so are the results.

I had the Pop-Charger. It lost power for me, especially at the low end. Not convinced of any gains at the top either. 0-60 times were consistently slower, and my dynos seemed to show the same thing.

I had it on for a short time, just 'cause it looked 'cool'. I went back to the K&N panel in the stock box.

You might want to try the Stillen Intake as it's had more consistent reviews. I'm happy with just the K&N and Z-tube.

I had the same intake and it's now in my garage in a box. I now have the Pop Charger with a Z-tube and all is well again.

The Motordyne spacer is a proven setup with hundreds and hundreds of dynos to prove it's results.

Go get the 1/2 Motordyne spacer with the Iso Thermal gasket. Trust me on this one.

Again:

1) Ditch the AEM intake. Get either a Pop Charger, Stillen intake or just drop in a K&N air filter with a Z-tube. All three will give you positive results (albeit minimal........but gaining little is better than losing lots).

2) Crawford cats are the best high-flow cats on the market for our cars. Craftsmanship is second to none.
i have the injen cold air intake and as u can see on there dynos they never lose power across the grid? i dono where u got your information but ide like to see it

I have heard cases where the Injen has gained power for some people just like I've also heard from some people that the Pop Charger (which I use) has lost some power for them. Not all cars are created equal, meaning some cars may like and intake that another one may not. However, there are many more negative reports about cold air intakes.

Again, my information comes from looking at dyno sheets (I do not own these sheets, so I would have to go back and ask for them), owning an AEM intake myself and talking to people who are definitely in-the-know. I can assure you that I'm not pulling this information out of my rear end.

Again, if you want to try the Skunk2 spacer, nobody is going to stop you. It may end up working great for you.

However, there are MANY more people on this message board that are using the Motordyne spacers and most would tell you to go with Motordyne. On top of anything else, Motordyne's customer support is hands-down the best.

I've held both spacers and I think Motordyne's looks nicer and will make the car appear to be stock when it is one. The Skunk2 spacer is darker.
