Yesterday I was driving casually around the city, did not go over 3K rpm, did not go more than 50% throttle. After about 10 minutes of driving, I was at a red light and in nuetral (6MT).
I felt some very minute (small) sputtering. How do I explain this.....
If you've ever owned a car with at least 100,000 miles on it, sometimes you will feel some sputtering while idle'ing.

Basically, I have only 4,500 miles on the G, and I experienced some sputtering (barely noticable). Note, that at the next stop light, i did not notice the sputtering.

Anybody else notice anything similar? Any suggestions or explanations? Is this normal?

hmm I think i've expericed the same problem. I was crusing downhill (slight slope) in 4th gear and every 10-20 second I felt a sputter. After the 3rd sputter I speed up and went away. I'm not sure if I can recreate this problem or not.

Got 5000 miles on my 6MT. Idles smoothly. Only time it ever sputtered on me was when my gas was low. Example: negotiating sharp corners on track or going up or downhill on track with only 2 gallons of gas in tank; sputtering on street driving when only 1 gallon left in tank (fill up registered 19.2 gallons).

Hi,

I have had same issue. Had my 6M/T in last week for 7500 service and had them check codes and idle. No codes all OK, talked to tech, he said it was nothing to bw worried about.

I would have posted but it won't let me.

hey dreams.... i think you might be onto something here, I have a somewhat-low tank, ok about 3 gallons left.
The stoplight i was stopped on was on a SLIGHT downhill for the past 500 feet that I drove on, but now i was in neutral and the car was not creeping forward (no brakes, either). Thats when it sputtered 4 or 5 times (very small sputtering, im surprised i noticed it).
So perhaps you are onto something with this low-fuel downhill concept.

OK, I tested my car at the same stoplight again, this time with only 1 gallon of fuel left....same sputtering, a little more noticable now actually. Immediately went to the gas station and filled 12 gallons of very expensive gas..... drove back to that same stop light and what did i find? THE SAME SPUTTERING! [img]/w3timages/icons/frown.gif[/img]
Its very noticable now, i think i am going to have to take her in for a checkup...

Let me know what the service people say. Like I said, I have a same problem like you. It is barely noticeable, but it's there.

I think I have experienced a little of this, also. Sometimes I feel a slight sputter or shimmy in the car when stopped at a light, etc. The engine is not struggling or making any noise, there are moments where it is not completely smooth.
Does this make sense? I wonder if this is just normal operation (I assume it it...)

I too am having the same problem. And it has nothing to do with the gas. I only have 4,200 miles on the car. The car is going in for a new trans, flywheel and clutch. My friend is the service manager @ Infiniti and he knows the problems I'm having w/ this car. I love and I hate it all at the same time.

 

Let me know because my 6MT does the same thing when stopped and in neutral. The car shakes a little when the engine sputters.
