Drip Noise After Turning Off Engine
Drip Noise After Turning Off Engine
I have a new G35 with 1300 miles. When I turn off the engine I hear what sounds like a drip and the engine emits a strong smell. I was told by the dealer that the smell is normal for new engines and should go away after a few hundred miles. Well, it is now over a thousand miles and the smell has not gone away. I looked to see if anything was dripping under the car and could not find anything, and I have not been using the AC to cause a condensation drip. Is this normal?

wouldnt that make a ticking noise?
I think I'm having the same noise he's having...I think it's the fuel pump shutting off - sounds more like a faint sqeaking noise. If you turn on the ignition, not cranking the engine over, and switching the ignition back off..I'd get that noise.
