I don't know.. I want to say put it on but some people say it's bad for your engine. I don't see how it can be bad. We will know soon!

Re: SHOULD I PUT ON MY CRANK PULLEY?
I would NEVER put it on.

The factory pulley is multi-piece rubber dampened pulley; this allows it to absorb the crank vibrations at high RPMs (5000+). The UA one is a single piece, which does not do any of it. Too much trouble and loss of peace of mind for 5 horsies.

PUT THEM ON! They are bad @ss! I defintely noticed an increase in power when I put my 3 peice set on. I had to becareful on the way home because I would reach redline a lot quicker then usual. Trust me, it works great and you won't have any problems.

Personally, I don't know you, so I think I'd rather trust the mechanical engineer at Dinan.

Dinan is BMW's, Thats a completely different car. This whole issue is driving me f-ing crazy. I have the pulley in my hand and am waiting to hear if it is ok before I install it...........

Re: SHOULD I PUT ON MY CRANK PULLEY?
Yes, Dinan is BMW, but an internal combustion engine is an internal combustion engine, and a harmonic balancer is a harmonic balancer, etc. The physics principles involved in making performance mods to the engine are the same from Aston Marton to Yugo. The reasons that Dinan paper cites underdrive pulleys as being damaging to an engine are valid for any internal combustion engine, not just a BMW. After reading that, I'd say return the part for a refund and spend your money on something else.

Re: SHOULD I PUT ON MY CRANK PULLEY?
The VQ35 is internally balanced, I have had a VQ engine and I still have a crank pulley sitting on my shelf. There are no balancing marks or anything else on the pulley other than the belt guides.

The pulley does not have any rubber nothing on it. it is NOT a harmonic balancer.

If you don't trust me, cool, it is your engine. sell me your pulley for 100.00 shipped.

I ran a UR UDP on my 3.5 altima for a year and a half, engine ran smoother and revved easier
