Cant trip 1st to 2nd....feedback please
from the day i got my car i was able to trip, chirp or w/eyou wanna call it from 1st to 2nd, and as a matter of fact ONCE from 2nd to 3rd....i have noticed for the past month or two i havent been able to do 1st to 2nd.......
Im wondering, is it cause my tires are more worn out then before? is it cause i havent driven the car as much as i did before? or do i just suck?.....I havent actually really TRIED to trip 2nd but the few times ive full throttled recently i just get a major pull from 1st to 2nd....(which is good dont get me wrong), but my main question is....is the car now just really broken in once i hit 9k miles, are my tires wearing out, could their be a problem with my drivetrain? or is it maybe im not really trying?
just a quick side note, i have noticed recently that when i floor the car in 1st, it lags a little sometimes before it really kicks in....could their be a problem i should have checked at the dealer?

If I am correct, you should be able to chirp any car any time. All chirping is is enguaging the clutch so fast that the wheels are forced to break traction. This is hard on the drive-train and not a true symbol of power. You really DON'T want to chirp because this means you are losing traction and (in quarter mile terms) losing time.
If you want to chirp, keep your foot on the gas longer as you let go of the clutch. This will keep the RPM's up and force more power down to the wheels once the clutch enguages.

thanks for the feedback, and yes i understand chirping is bad vs quarter mile and i was actually kinda glad i was shifting with more power, but i was just wondernig, ill test some things when i get a chance with a sloppier shift....gas/clutch ratio....
