I hate this plenum spacer!

This 1/2" plenum spacer has totally changed the way I drive. Now I'm freakin' redlining all day long and passing traffic w/ a lot more ease. It's also planting me into my seat more. How annoying. Not to mention that my car now sounds louder and deeper. I bet I'll be getting a speeding ticket now that I've upped my average mph on the way to work. I miss the good old days of not having more midrange jaw dropping power. Just yesterday the guy that usually follows me to work said he's having an even harder time keeping up. That just made me feel bad. If only I weren't too lazy to remove this mod.

(Note the obvious sarcasism. This thing is awesome!)

Life sucks huh? I don't know how you'll be able to drive anymore??? Good luck with your midrange jawdropper. And to think you could of had a KIA

you like how it has a tendancy to make your right foot even heavier huh? yea, i just got mine last week and it seems like i'm driving the car more now and going to the gas station every 3-4 days. I drove 265 miles in the last 3 days and already had to fill up again, i think it's the redlining the car everywhere i go that get's it. +1 for MD spacers.

Yeah man. And now I'm getting wrinkles on my face from smiling all the time. This is just ridiculous!! I wish I was still just thinking about getting one like other people.

OK so I'm getting ready to order a spacer, now which one??

I've heard and read/searched about both. Some say the 1/2 and some the 5/16, both seem to give the same amount of gain...

Anyone??

dude, if that's the case, then you're in for some horrific time when you couple that 1/2" plenum spacer w/headers and a Z mid pipe(like i did).....
you're not gonna enjoy that little rush of excitement around +3.5k rpm.... .............so DON'T do it!!!!!!

Maybe its a good thing that I sold it to you Grant. Im having a hard time lifting up my right foot as well, and thats with out the spacer. I probably would be forkin up some extra gas money for it.

I got the 1/2" because Tony said that it would make my engine sound deeper. I doubt you'll feel the 1hp difference between the two. Just ask yourself these questions. Do I want the engine to sound deeper? (1/2" spacer is the answer) Do I want to retain the engine cover? (5/16" spacer is the answer) If you answer yes to both then decide which is more important and go w/ it. Either way you'll be just as mad as the rest of us!

will it benefit my car?

Since we're on the topic of hating the spacer so much, and I didn't want to make a new thread about this, how can I tell whether or not I have the MREV version of the G35, or is this a dumb question?


Car was shipped from factory in Oct 05, bougth in January 06.
6 Speed manual transmission -- 298hp.
Redline is 7k, i have pushed it to 7500 by accident thinking I was driving my 2000 SI.


Would the 5/16" plennum spacer work then in my engine?
Also what would the engine code be for an MREV engine?

If I remember correctly the 298hp is the key indicator, so I believe you're good to go to get the MREV plus upgrade. I've got an '05 AT w/c already has the lower collector that the MREV kit comes w/. From what I've heard you'll hate it something fierce.
