so they lost almost 1 full second just by replacing hf cats and pro-1 exhaust with test pipes and 5zigen exhaust (which is known to loose power). And they don't even have a tune to prevent them from leaning out with all those breathing mods. Riiiiiiiiiiiight

You guys are dreaming

1.695, 60 ft times. On what tires? Your times are faster than my stillen stage 4 Z, 5 AT on street tires of 13.0. Go run the car on normal tires and post. I may go 12.4 on slicks with a torque converter. How about a dyno sheet ? You need at least 317 rwhp to run that time with out drag radials or slicks. You must make more rwhp than dougs car and he does not make 300 at the wheels yet.
It's to bad that you do not live closer to Toronto Canada I would love to meet you at the track and see you kick my *** on street tires!!!!! NOT IN THIS LIFE TIME !!!!

I must be missing something. What does it matter if a guy uses street tires, or DR's, or full-blown slicks, or what? That's a mod just like anything else, including your "stage 4 stillen". Why the hostility?

Because 60ft times make or break the 1/4 time. Every 1/10th in the 60ft is 2/10th's in the 1/4 mile. he pulled a 1.8 60ft when he ran 13.1. and a 1.69 60ft when he ran the 12.9. His 1/8th mile mph is faster on the 13.1 run. That was all driver in those 2 runs. I'd love to see the slip from the 13.6 run. Probably a 2.0 60ft time. TRACTION is the key to the 1320 run, Nothing else. But if you break apart those time slips there is no power change between the 13.1 run and 12.9 run. and I'd bet anything hte 13.6 run was done on street tires and these were done on some sort of semi-slick. Not saying is isnt impressive, but I'd hate to see people go and buy all these mods thinking this is the key to 12's all motor without cams. Tires and driver ability is the key

I'm still confused here. I understand about 60 foots, traps, and all that. I'll admit I'm not an expert, but I've been down the drag strip over 100 times in my car. What I don't get is the aspersion to using drag radials. So what he doesn't have cams. He's still all motor, right? He still hit 12's, right? DR's are a mod, just like an intake, cams, headers, or whatever. Regardless of the DR's or not, it takes skill to get that low in this car NA, period.

San Antonio is very close to sea level, if it was the dead of winter, it might be possible. I mean we're talking about dropping the clutch at like 5k rpm and praying for traction. I'd like to see a video before I buy it though.

Well, the redlight shouldn't really apply since (at NHRA tracks) your timing doesn't begin until you leave the start line whether it's before or after the green.

It is odd that they were both red lights though. Makes me wonder if maybe they were using a different timing system where the clock starts at the green.

13.1 now guys, with only a 1.7 bogging really bad off the line

this is easily possible in a Z, they are much lighter, i only have KnN, pulleys, test pipes, utec, y pipe and slicks

still have stock rims, stock headers, stock cams, stock bottom end...

i pulled a nice 1.67 on nitrous a couple days ago too!!! what a feeling hooking that well. i will have some new NA times this week coming up for sure...
