I took my stuff to circuit city a couple times and they fked it all up...I was installing navigation headunits and playstations and such, but I have never had an install at Best Buy. H H Gregg fked up an alarm system for me too, so I am not the biggest fan of letting places like that touch my car....but I don't have experience with Best Buy,so can't say one way or another....Sometimes they have good people, sometimes they don't...

O hella...I worked for Circuit city> i know how they work. they do have certified license installers. Those are the guys to get. But they also have trainees doing installs as well before they go, and often unsupervised. If you go, stay with your car. Do what you do best...hover silently and keep a good eye on it. Best buy only uses certified installers, period. Before you go, find out who will be working on your stuff, and maybe talk to him before hand and get to know him a little. It wouldnt hurt to ask to see some of his stuff in photos as well, if he has some. A quality installer will have something to prove his talent.
I am sorry I couldnt get to it. Family comes first to me always. I would have loved to have done it.

Disconnecting the negitive terminal is the correct thing to do before working on ANY electrical system in the car. It eliiminates the grounding and therefore, eliminating 99% chances of shock. So yes, that is proper proceedure. I skipped it a few times, got away with it a few times, smoked some wires another. Its the same concept of shutting off power in the house before working on an outlet.

My wife and I will be there, we booked a room at the Hilton Garden Inn Columbus/Grove City.

I am not sure what time we will get into the area but probably around 4 or 5. How should we meet up with all of you?

P.S. I should have my Akebono's calipers back from the powdercoater by then so if anyone would like to make some extra $'s installing the kit next weekend let me know Here is what they look like:

well i got my JDM DD kit and Pioneer Headunit Installed today at Bestbuy.

and im very impressed ! Chuck who has been working on car audio for over 15 years worked on my car byhimself. yes the install took about 4 hours, but id rather him take his time , u kno. the only complaint is the gap on the bottom and sides, i mean its alright but when i have enough money to buy my subs, amp, backup camera, etc. im going to have Chuck fill in the gaps with plastic or something.

Cool! Average installs took 15 to 60 mins for me. But I know our is a little more complicated...as is most newer cars. I have heard about the gaps...most shops have abs plastic on hand, and if they are skilled enough with the right tools, they can make those. A piece of ABS plastic like that ran aobut $10 back in the day.

Looks good. I cant wait to do mine.

Did he bypass the bose amp and run everything off the headunit?
