Wow... JDM badging at an all time high on the "How stoopid is that" scale... IMO of course...

"Not that there's anything wrong with that..."

Thanks.
I have the same exact modification and a friend did it for me. You simply take the cover off of the JDM horn (The center piece that detaches) and replace yours. You'll still have all of your steering wheel controls and you do not tamper with the airbag. Its a pretty simple mod but expensive.

Do you know how I can detach the horn plate? It seems easy enough to pry or pop it off, but I don't want to deploy the airbag. As far as the controls go, I'm hoping they pop off and I can replace them with the ones on my steering wheel. It hasn't been delivered yet, so I won't know much until I see what I'm working with. All I know is the airbag module is stilli intact and it was replaced for an aftermarket steering wheel.

You wont deploy the airbag, there are two screws that hold the airbag inside the steering wheel. Once you receive the steering wheel you'll find that the skyline steering wheel wont work with the G35, the wiring is completely different. What you'll need to do is detach the airbag from the stock steering wheel and disconnect the wiring. Trust me, it wont deploy.. you really dont touch the airbag at all. Then all you do is swap the airbag covers and reinstall. I watched my friend do it in a matter of minutes.

Go over to g35frenzy and post cause there are two of us that have done this. If my car wasn't in the shop I'd post pictures of how to do it. I ordered mine from the same guy and it will take about a month for you to receive the steering wheel.

Sorry I couldn't help out more.
Thanx bro. I'll keep looking.

Put me in the group that doesn't understand why you would put a Nissan steering wheel on an Infiniti.

I can understand performance based mods, but the steering wheel? Come on.

Too much time on someone's hands........IMHO.

Taking a classy sports car and cheesing it out.

What he said ^^^ I second that. Some people have way to much time on their hands. Lets see, lets put a nissan steering wheel on an Infiniti coupe "what are you thinking man. Your taking all of the controls off the one you have and getting one thats cheesy looking with no controls. Doesnt make any sense.

OK, one more time "YOUR INFINITI G35 IS A NISSAN". When you buy any parts for "YOUR INFINITI G35" it come's in a "NISSAN BOX". My G35 as Nissan all over it. Now it's time to do the inside. HOLLA. http://history.jbskyline.net/index5.php#11thgen

geez, lets not turn this into another "your infiniti is an infiniti" thread, there are plenty if you guys would do a search and then rant all you want. The guy just wants to know how to replace his airbag with a nissan emblem.. his choice so let him have it.

Thanks Tony. I have this document found in the G35 manual (see pic) that shows how to remove the airbag module. Is this what your talking about? Looks easy enough. If so, where did you get the "TORX" wrench to remove the two side bolts?

Thanks again.

you can get a torx driver at any hardware or auto parts store....you can usually find a fold-out pocket-knife type with many different sizes...

Exactly, we got one from a local parts store like autozone or pep boys. The directions there are exactly what I was talking about. Once you remove the airbag you can just take the cover off and replace it with the nissan airbag cover. The whole thing wont take more than 10-15 minutes.
