well im pretty set on my decision of tein 350z h-techs and stillen sways. now its just a matter of deciding when.

what i wanted to know was if anyone in north/central florida wouldnt mind helping me install them? im sure the sways arent tough, but ive never done springs and id rather have someone with some experience help. id be willing to drive a couple of hours to orlando or something. i could also pay in beer heh.

I think this just shows his revision on making the front spring install easier. There is a link at the top that shows the original write-up with instructions on how to install the rear springs.

I used this to install my Tein coilovers and it helped out a LOT!

 

sway bar bolts are on pretty tight, much easier with air tools.

 

springs are easy... but we need air tools ... unless you want me to just point and you do the labor for hours and hours of spring compression?!

but seriously, an air gun would make it much easier to deal with... who's got a compressor?!

im just using this as an excuse to meet some fgc guys. hopefully i can find someone/somewhere we can do this. if all else fails, i think my buddy has everything at his parents house in southern ga.

 

problem...i was all set on 350z h-techs but i was doing some reading and i just realized something. with my 05 sport suspension, almost any spring i go with will have a lower rear rate and i dont want that. my main goal with springs is to reduce my tire gap without going low enough that i need camber adjustments. so far, it looks like my only option is a split spring set such as h-techs front and eibach pros rear. anyone have any advice?

 

I think OEM Z springs will have the same spring rate but will lower it some.

jason tried this but it looks like his car got a lift kit in the rear.

the z front springs will lower the car about an inch in the front but the rears are exactly the same. the springs are the exact same size and they will not lower the rear it all. so the front will look lowered but hte rear will actually look like it was raised up a little bit.

 

i was thinking the same when i decided to purchase a set of springs for my 6MT sedan....especially since the rear is slightly lower on sedans. the drop was 1.3 front/0.7 rear and the rear still looks a mm or 2 lower than my front b/c of the 245/40/19 on my rear coupe wheels and 225/40/19 front. i have some rubbing issues when 3+ people so i will probably end up having my rear fenders rolled and also replace tire size to 245/35/19 instead of 245/40/19. i havnt had an alighnment since the springs and coupe wheels were put on, no camber issues and besides being noisy everythings fine.

 

i understand that chobble, but i cant justify hurting my handling just for looks. as much as i want the springs for cosmetics, i wont sacrifice performance. bah this really sucks...
