Rolex 24

I wasn't sure if any of you guys know, but hte ROLEX 24 is this weekend in Dytona. Pretty fun event. I think between 11-5, u can get into the infield with your car for like 10 bucks. you can walk right up to the track and the pits from there.
Just letting you guys know, its a pretty fun event, 10times better than nascar

I was going to go, but have decided to skip it. Parents are still going with their friends in the infield in an RV with the Brumos supporters...check out the Infiniti G35 car in the GT class sponsored by HLM (built by Crawford)...

I actually was fortunate to work the race once in the early 80's as a course worker in flags and communication.

It was a blast and got to be in the infield at the turn right before they go back out onto the high bank! Very cool....

This was back in the IMSA years where the Porsche turbos, Ferrari BB512's and Corvettes ran against each other. I think this year Danny Ongais won in a Porsche 935.

I almost froze my **** off however, I think it was in the upper 20's/lower 30's in the evening sessions! Brrrrrrrrr!

just got home from this.....going back up there in the early morning to watch the finish....

was probably the biggest turnout I've ever seen in the last 4 i've been to....

I saw the crawford G35, took some pics, i'll show later, pretty basic car, exhaust set-up was nice(dump offs before rear tires) but it was pretty banged up on the front end, lots of duck tape before the race started and I think something happened to it, cus after after 5 hours into the race I didn't see it anymore....

will keep everyone updated and pics later....

The #45 Infiniti is in 29th place in the GT class as I type this...there is a full fledged article in the new modifiled mag (I think that's the one). They also showed it for awhile on the speedtv coverage earlier today (around 4pm)...

I had to work and couldn't make it to the 24, but I went to the race yesterday. I didn't see the G35 in the practice though. Yesterday's race was the most crowded GS/ST race I've seen there.

On tv, the place looked empty (crowd wise).
