gettin a notebook very soon...advice?

well really can anyone get discounts or anything towards a Dell notebook? Lookin to get a E1505 unless a E1705 could be priced near it...want it to be pretty equipped but under $1500, the best thing i could find was an online coupon for $500 and that reduced my E1505 from $1700 even to $1285 shipped....so just seeing if any FL G members work for a computer company or what not and can get like a 50% discount or somethin lol...thanks alot guys...

I personally own two Dell E1505s and Im very happy with them. However the best thing you can do is go to CNET.com and do some research on them.

avoid toshiba. they have power problems on every toshiba i had to use. Dell's are cheap as hell but they're the best deal. I've used 2 dells so far and almost no problems (none that i remember anyway)
i say think out of the box and get a MAC. if you can afford one that is

Dell's are okay, I got one through school. You should check that out, sometimes they will give up to 25% off + if you get their credit card you can get an additional % off during promotions, of course don't keep a balance on the card, cuz they rape you.

I have a alienware desktop and love it, but I think their notebooks are the same as a sony, sony is less money, but the alienware laptop is just sick looking.

I have a Dell Latitude through my graduate school program, and for the last 2 years it has yielded no problems other than wear and tear on the mouse buttons (easy solution: wireless mouse).

check out cheapstingybargains.com, they have a bunch of coupons for dell notebooks. Saw a few for the E1505 and E1705 on there.
