Thoughts on ZDayZ 2007
well what did everyone think about ZDayZ this year??
what are things you liked and things you didnt?
what would you want to see happen for next year?
new events? things to do?
let me know. ZDayZ is looking to have the clubs take over and sponsor a certain activity, so we will need volunteers for next year that will be able and willing to help.
i know i cant wait for next year

The food could be bettter. I think the dinner ceremonies are unorganized and boring.
The Poker Run was a lot of fun...driving in general up there is fun.
The parties are ok...needs more girls, but we all know that will never happen.
And you don't call out someone like that on stage... "Disqualified!" Who said 5 2's was impossible?

Well what did everyone think about ZDayZ this year?? Loved it!
Things I like: Car show in the grass, Extreme Class for Z's, Poker Run, Bar-B-Que was AWESOME!, free water and sodas, desserts, raffles, crazy tshirt contest, entry tickets for car show = prizes (loved that!)....
Things I did not like: No Activities on Sunday, Not enough G's for Extreme class (thats our job this year though - bring more in guys!), Be more organized - felt out of whack this year, raffles took too long or had too many different colored tickets, bring back the trophy - no plaques! Group Photo on Saturday after car show or on Sunday.....
What would you want to see happen for next year? More/Wide Range of activities (will even volunteer if needed), last year we had glasses (pint) with our tshirts and this year just a tshirt? but the price went up?! huh...., need friday only passes....
New events? things to do?: Contests/Games Between Classes of Cars, CLASS JUST FOR CHICKS
, Husband and Wife Class, Best Custom Color of Paint, Best Vanity Plate/Shirt that matches
i believe thats it for now

I think I enjoyed this year the most out of the three I have been, but I think it was because I was only in Fontana for a few hours! For me and my life style, Fontana is just too isolated.
We stayed about an hour away, closer to Pigeon Forge, and we were surrounded by things to do.
For the people that drive long distances (6 hours for us) it would be nice if there were more options besides getting drunk and looking at cars. Maybe a group trip to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg would be a good idea. My little group had a blast there.

I didn't like parking on the fricking baseball diamond so that every time someone in a golf cart drove by, the G's got coated in a fine sparking dust.
It would be nice to have something to do on Sunday, otherwise, for people that get there Friday afternoon, Z Dayz becomes a Saturday only thing.
I agree with redg35chic that the trophies need to come back. Plaques take up less space, but they look cheap.

First off, it was good to meet you Dan. The party at Nissan's cabin was pretty tight.
As far as car events go, I was very impressed overall. It seemed like most of the organizers knew what was going on and when a snafu did (inevitably) occur, it seemed like it was fixed quickly and to the satisfaction of the parties concerned (e.g. car show when two cars got the same entry #). I think there was some confusion as to when the raffle tickets for car show voters were to be drawn. Two or three guys I was with were under the impression that the car show raffles were going to be drawn at the Saturday night dinner along with the premium tickets. I don't know where they got that notion from, but that's what they thought when they dropped off their ballots and left to drive the dragon.
Other than that, I thought it was a really good scene - mostly very cool people, not much drama (there was one vendor who is rather well-known on these boards that I was SEVERELY disappointed in; I wish I never would have met him), and I think a great time was had by all.
I wish Fontana would refinish that crater-pitted parking lot. I think it was responsible for quite a few people damaging their cars/kits (Sharif is one I know of; idwin thought he scraped his exhaust or bumper on something, too).
The catered food was agreeable - can't expect too much for the price we paid. I'm not a fan of the t-shirt we were given. I liked last years shirt a LOT more (I bought three of them
). I do like the polo shirts and hat (I also bought one of each of these).
That's all I've got for now. If I think of anything else, I'll let ya know.

I think in addition to poker run and the raffles which they have at any car show practically. They should do something like a scavenger hunt and the person that finds all the items by the end of the weekend wins a built motor with TT.....
