Hey everyone, I've had my 07 G35 coupe for about a month. I traded in my S2000 for it. After a month I finally found this forum and this section of the site, lol. Do you guys ever have any meets or ever go to the track, sebring or drag?

Oh yeah, I'm in Kissimmee near OIA, hopefully I get to see you guys around.

Congrats on the new G and welcome to our section.

The Club has at least one organized meet a year, but sections of the state have informal mini-meets in their local areas. Check in to this section because all the local mini-meets are posted here.

I suspect we will have a local meet here in Orlando before year's end.

Hey. There's a few of us that meet up a few times a week for food, local meets, bars, etc. It's all out by UCF though.

Welcome aboard!
What year was your S2K? What are your impressions between the 2 cars??? I ask (and I'm sure to get flamed) because I am thinking of buying the new 2008 S2k CR or a used 2001ish S2K to build...

Putting the money into this platform seems a tad unreasonable to me. I'd rather do a Miata or S2k--something light and quick, and just build the car entirely right. I'd like to track the car every now and then as well.

Besides, if I did the above, I could lease a new BMW 135 or IS350 if I wanted plenty of go in my dd, or just go entirely different and get an FX...or, just keep my G and still get an S2k or Miata...

That all said, I do like the NismoZ...could buy that and keep it stock except a simple turbo kit (from the "Factory"). But then comes a Skyline in a bit...I dunno...

good thinking. these arent track cars without a lot of work. get the s2k and a 135 or keep the g. is350 is a coupe interior in a sedan and you already have the fj for an suv.

I am going to Sebring again for the fifth time the beginning of November. There are not too many people that track their G's but there are a few. Many more owners of 350z's track their cars and you can learn a lot on MY350Z.com. They handle very nicely on the track and are very forgiving. I still take mine to the track strickly stock and surprise some people with the pace I can keep. I'm not saying I'm Mario Andretti or anything and I do drive with the thought I also driving home. I would say this car is definitely more for a road course than a drag strip which is what you read more about on this sight.

Here is my thread...the farther down the thread you read the more recent my visits

I had an 06 S2k. If you want a track ready car, S2k is a good car to start with. All I did was put coilovers and an exhaust on the S2k. The car's handling is very very nice and on point. Only problem with this car is that the go fast parts don't do anything unless you go F/I. Also, even the basic bolt-ons are extremely expensive. Cheapest intake you can find from a decent company is $350.

The S2k is very fun around turns but the straight line is not there. Granted it wasn't mean't for that but I think for the price you pay and little features you get, it needs a little more go. Oh, don't get the 08 CR because it is a waste of money. You can add better parts for cheaper than what comes on the CR. If you're going to do a lot of daily driving, 04+ is what you want for the added torque but lower redline.

I got my G35 because I got tired being cramped in the S2k even though I'm 5'6 and only 140lbs, lol. Wanted something more on the comfortable side and wasn't a gawd damn theft magnet. For the love of god, if you get one please please please keep it in the garage or prepare to have the entire interior stolen. I've had mine broken into multiple times. Also, I think the G looks sexier modded.

On a final note, you have to be a pretty decent driver to be consistently fast in the S2k. The car is not mean't for average drivers if you want to be fast in it.

Welcome to the club, Captain...

I used to have an RSX-S and changed to a G35 Coupe. Like you I also like the G35 styling. I liked my RSX... it was pretty quick, but it had no bottom end... to get it up to speed you had to really rev it up and then it looked like you were racing... anyway, I finally found a Coupe that I could fit in to (no sunroof) and the rest is history.

I'm also one of the few that opted to keep my G NA and mod it. I think it's a lot of fun and the mods can make a difference. None of the NA mods will bolt on 200 horsepower like a turbo, but it's fun.
