Bump...

Not looking for romantic, but more or less upscale or excellent Japanese/Sushi places besides the obvious of Chizu, Shogun, and Sushi Rock... Any other recommendations?

One of my favs is Dolphin Depot at the beach on 1st street. (Walk on the beach after dinner) Or Dwight's bistro on Penman rd. Would def make reservations a few days in advance .They both rock. Not to sure about Japanese restaurants.

Daruma is pretty good. there is one on Beach near San pablo or on at 95 and st augustine rd. My personal favorite is Crazy Sushi. Its in the publix shopping center across from Hooters. There is also a new sushi place on 9A across from Jackie Lee's.

I also hear that Koja at the landing is good, but i've never eaten there.

Dude, I used to love getting the "Spicy Beef Box" from koja.....until they showed up on the food report. They were storing fish and other crap in the ice box that they use for drinking ice!! barf! don't eat anywhere in the landing. SERIOUSLY. Every place at the landing, because of the location on the water, has a problem with vermin. (trust me, check the food reports)

If your downtown, you have to grab some carnita tacos from BURRITO GALLERY...MMMmmMMMmmm... and they have a full bar. I wish they would reopen boom town.

off topic, but BEST pizza in town, hands down! is MOON RIVER PIZZA. (edgewood ave)

The Atlantic on 1st street right next to Ocean Club. Great spot, very nice upscale sushi spot.

Also, Ichiban on 3rd street is fantastic.

i'd prefer italian, chinese, mexican..those kinda restuarants. if you have other kind of restuarant that have veggie menus, do let me know.

it's for the girl's bday..i want to make it special.

restuarants i already thought of:

PF chang
Maggiano's
Cheesecake
Mongo Mongo
Carrabas
Campeche Bay

i'll appreciate the help!!

Mexican and Italian are bad for romance due to them creating certain body odor especially since you will be gettin it on lately.

Casa de Maria on the beach.

Yes, Moon River IS the best pizza in town! Also they have some of the best new menus in town (because I did them )

Even though I hate the Landing, Koja is actually very good. They have great Korean food too which I dont think there is much of in Jacksonville.

You can go to this site and look up any restaurants health inspection reports:
