I don't think they are illegal. I mean hell look at some of the Mercededs Benz and BMW headlights when they are comming at you.

i know, just because they're mods, doesn't give them the right to judge legal issues and force them on paying members, thats my outlook.

Yes you are right.

But as mods we have the right to decide the content of what is posted and what is not posted.

As per Infiniti Corporate, they want these recalled lights destroyed. As per Infiniti Corporate any dealer found in vioation will be fined 2k per occurance.

Infiniti Corporate is on the forums here on Driver. Do I have to connect the dots for you

And by the way razor1, please adjust the graphic in your sig to what the rules of Driver are (tia).

Note to Infiniti Corporate:
If you don't want people re-using your recall headlights maybe you should do something about the thousands of 03 - 04 owners driving around with cracks in their crappy non-projector style lights. Obviously unable to withstand the heat from your own bulbs, instead of making them have to go get the reject [now blackmarket] projector lights out of dealership dumpsters......

Don't crack down on the owners that want the 06 projectors, crack down on the dealers not destroying them as they should. So now I can't sell the headlights I bought in February 06 before the recall was announced.

i really dont mean to play devils advocate here cuz it in no way affects me. but, there are ways to get around this. no threads posting the sale of them, but it doesnt say anywhere that WTB threads are prohibited. therefore, someone could make a thread saying "WTB 06 proj blah blah blah" and it will get zero replies. BUT, and i know you paying members have this special feature, lol there is such thing as a PM. connect the dots. its a legality issue, nobody who runs the site wants to get in trouble.

but its not a legality question, no US laws are being broken, and DOT has not put a limitation on them, this was only Infiniti's doing. We are being prohibited to sell ANY 06 light here by a manufacture to which we payed big dollars to to own one of their products, doesn't seem right. If there is NO way to prove prerecall and post recall lights, then there is no proof of either, so let us sell what we have. It was the dealers responsibility to do their job here, not owns to pay a price in any way.
