JAX Paint and Body / Restoration ... Any recommendations??

Hey guys. Who is everyone using nowadays for good paint and body work in Jax? Historically, I've had really, really bad luck with body shops. And I'm not talking cheap either. I've spent 8 grand at one body shop in town, and still got sub par service... I just despise them! If they say it'll be done next month, that means 4-6 more months! That crap is unacceptable.

Okay, end of rant. hehe... If anyone can recommend a good paint & body shop, i'd appreciate the info. I just picked up a 67 camaro (one owner / 327cid standard coupe) And I want to do a complete paint job ( factory color ) plus door jambs, engine bay, and inside of trunk. There are some very minor rust spots that will have to be repaired (very little considering it's a 40 year old car) plus I want the glass pulled and all the weather stripping replaced. The body is super straight and pretty dam clean.

Car belonged to my uncle who bought it in 67. I just purchased it last week. Should be a fun project.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions... Jon.

theres a guy around town named Caesar who does remarkable body work, especially paint. From what i've heard of him his shop is near downtown and he specializes in old school muscle cars. I dont honestly have his number, but i know who does, i'll ask'm tomorrow and post it up.

I used VAB Collision Center on Atlantic near San Marco. They did my custom bumper and valence and did good work. Their customer service has always been top notch, too.
Precision Frame and Carriage does exotic work and repair, though their customer service can be hit or miss and they are SLOW. That said, they did all the paint and body work on both of my dad's 1965 Porsche 356's, which had some rust from salt and snow in New Jersey (where he got them) and the cars are now flawless...

O'Steen's very good. And they do car restoration. It's on Tresca Rd. Ph# 721-1301. A little pricey. But there's another one on St. Augustine Rd, I think, which is also very good. I'll get it at work tomorrow and I'll post it.

Jon,

I used Caeser a long time ago for some paint and finish work on my fiberglass system in my maxima. He did okay work, but it was hard to tell on a little project.

Do you know Gary Brown? He did Holman's front end conversion on his white prelude, he painted and installed my busted *** ings+1 kit on the g35 and he specializes in older custom hot rods. I am actually not sure if he is still in business, but worth checking out...

Last but not least, O'steens does GREAT work if you talk to the right people. My mom took her lexus there to get a new rear bumper and they did a great job.

Want to open our own shop?? I want to restore a GTO for my mom and a lincoln continental for myself!

I hear good things about Elite, but I don't have personal experience with them.

any of us "OG's" will more than likely not work elite.. it takes about 2 years to get work done and it can be VERY shady.

how is their widebody lexus GS doing (4 years in the shop)
