built a camera headrest mount/shank nuts

so getting ready for my track days i did some surfing and just decided to build my own mount for my canon sd780is. rather than spend $40-50 online and i wanted to see some of my hand movement so did this.

i did vids in 720p but they're HUGE so ill have to make smaller 1s tomorrow and post them up.

also got some shank lugs in from summit racing. they're what you SHOULD run on oem g37 wheels.

$10 at home depot

mock-up

pipe insulation used to dampen vibration

only a couple screw-ups when drilling for the u-bolts

final product from my phone

widescreen view just like vids are made

3x zoom

flat lug base of the oem g37 wheel

tuner (cone) vs shank (flat)

and the sunset as i was walking in lol

ya i recently replaced my sd850is with the sd780is. its a lot smaller and pic quality is better plus i get 720p video. plus i ran the 850 into a wall oops. 780 is pretty cheap now - around $250 i believe.

here are the vids i made over the last couple days with my new mount. tried all 3 resolutions and zoomed vs normal. decided im going with normal at lowest resolution for the first weekend. quality is decent enough and i can get much more footage to go over. plus i want the wider view of the track. i can always change the next time.

high res normal

high res 3x zoom

med res normal

med res 3x

low res normal

low res 3x
