What made me wanna buy my G Thread
Just like Harvey, my previous car was a totaled Lexus ES300 ('01 model). Crashed it 3 years ago (head-on collision at 45 mph) and walked away fine with an airbag burn on my arm. Insurance cut me a check for around $18K. During the midst of my car shopping, it came down to one of the following: used Lexus GS300, used Infiniti I35 or G35, or new Toyota Corolla or Camry. Have always found used cars to be a bargain, and I found the G35 sedan I liked with low miles (40K for a 2003), had every option except for navigation, and wasn't a black car (owned 2 black cars before and never enjoyed keeping them clean). Bargained the price down by $2K to the private seller and got the deal.
well my story is a little different. I like Blue was into muscle cars. Mustangs to be exact in school. I had an 87 LX that I put alot of money into. After getting married and having my first son it was the one thing that was able to go and help us survive being she was not working at the time and we had another car. I started looking at other cars to replace it with a few years ago. I really like the Skyline (hearing the sighs) and found out other than paying out the A$$ for one that had been imported the G was the only way to get one in the US. I loved the look of the G and started to look for a way to buy one. After a few months of looking at them I found the one I liked and my wife agreed. She then offered on Valentines Day to go and get it for me. Thats all she wrote. Now going on 3 years later I still look back at it when I am going in stores thinking, "damn that is one bad *** looking ride." my friends still bug me to let them drive it. Other than my wife and a few family members that I trust no one else has driven it.
And yes I have bought the Skyline stuff for it. (oh now I feel the eye rolls.) LOL
